2025-2026 Season Age Classifications are based on the player's age as of midnight on December 31 of the current season. In the United States, USA Hockey designates the following levels.
- 8U - ages 8 & under (Born 2017-2020)
- 10U - ages 9-10 (Born 2015-2016)
- 12U - ages 11-12 (Born 2013-2014)
- 14U - ages 13-14 (Born 20011-2012)
- 18U - ages 15-18 (Born 2007-2010)
Players will not be permitted to play in a higher age bracket unless specifically authorized by the Coaching Director and approved by the Board of Directors and CAHA when required. Players who feel they are capable of playing at a higher age group must first submit an inquiry in writing to the Coaching Director and the Board of Directors by emailing info@greeleyyouthhockey.org. It is the policy of the Board to base these decisions on the safety of the player(s) involved and the best-interest of the Association as a whole, rather than the preference of the individual player/parent.
If approved, the decision will be for that current season only.
Under no circumstances can a player play-up more than one level and a player can never play down an age level.
All parents are strongly encouraged to complete SafeSport Training prior to the start of the season. A background check is only required for those who serve in volunteer positions that require it. This includes managers, treasurers, and locker room monitors.
