Greeley Youth Hockey Association will be playing in the CRHL (Colorado Recreational Hockey League). This is a recreational level league, however, our teams do travel within Colorado and sometimes southern Wyoming. There is no out of state travel by any of our Recreational teams.

GYHA is also intending on joining the RMHF (Rocky Mountain Hockey Federation) this season which will have at least one out of state tournament. See below for further information.

IMPORTANT: GYHA is pending application approval for RMHF. This cannot occur until after the annual CAHA meeting which has now been moved to June 16^th. While we anticipate to be approved, if for any reason we are not we will notify members immediately. 

If you are interested in playing at the 14U or 18U level, please join the waitlist so we can consider opening a second team.

Skater and Goalie limits at each age will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. A wait list will be available if a team is filled. We are planning on offering RMHF (travel/competitive) Teams at the 10U, 12U, and 14U levels, which will be selected after tryouts that will be held August 16th and 17th.

8U - will be capped at 40 players with up to 4 teams.

10U - 2 Teams (1 Rec and 1 RMHF), each with 15 skaters and 1-2 Goalies

12U - 2 Teams (1 Rec and 1 RMHF), each with 15 skaters and 1-2 Goalies

14U - 2 Teams (1 Rec and 1 RMHF), each with15 skaters and 2 Goalies. At this time we do not have enough players to have two teams. Please join the waitlist if you are interested so we can hopefully open a second team.

18U - 1 team, 15 skaters and 2 Goalies, please note if you are planning on dual rostering you will be placed on a waitlist and rostered if there are open spots. Please join the waitlist if you would like to play, we may be able to open a second team.

Registration is OPEN for ALL PLAYERS.

All players must first obtain a 2026-27 season USAH confirmation number in order to register. This is an annual requirement and is not the same number your player had last year. Skill levels for the 2026-2027 CRHL season

8U - Enrolled in Cub 1 or equivalent skills

10U - Completed Cub 2 or equivalent skills

12U - Completed Cub 3 or equivalent skills

• Home and Away game jerseys, socks, practice jersey
• Pant shells will be purchased by player $70
• Approximately 78 practice sessions
• 2 1/2 ice practices and full ice practice per week
• 14 league games
• End-of-season playoff tournament
• Team opportunity to participate in 3-4 tournaments (one will be out of state)

2026-2027 Season Age Classifications are based on the player's age as of midnight on December 31 of the current season. In the United States, USA Hockey designates the following levels.

• 8U - ages 8 & under (Born 2018-2021)
• 10U - ages 9-10 (Born 2016-2017)
• 12U - ages 11-12 (Born 2014-2015)
• 14U - ages 13-14 (Born 2012-2013)
• 18U - ages 15-18 (Born 2008-2011)



Players will not be permitted to play in a higher age bracket unless specifically authorized by the Coaching Director and approved by the Board of Directors and CAHA when required. Players who feel they are capable of playing at a higher age group must first submit an inquiry in writing to the Coaching Director and the Board of Directors by emailing info@greeleyyouthhockey.org. It is the policy of the Board to base these decisions on the safety of the player(s) involved and the best-interest of the Association as a whole, rather than the preference of the individual player/parent.

If approved, the decision will be for that current season only.

Under no circumstances can a player play-up more than one level and a player can never play down an age level.

All parents are strongly encouraged to complete SafeSport Training prior to the start of the season. A background check is only required for those who serve in volunteer positions that require it. This includes managers, treasurers, and locker room monitors.
