The Greeley Youth Hockey Association is proud to announce its $2,000 donation in support of the UNC Bears Hockey Club.

“LIFT CHECKING”: Young members of the Greeley Youth Hockey Association (GYHA) presented the UNC Bears Hockey team with a $2,000 check in appreciation of the college players’ coaching and mentorship throughout the 2009-2010 season. Members of the UNC Bears have volunteered their time and expertise this season to support GYHA and to help young Greeley Stampede members grow and succeed as hockey players. GYHA made the $2,000 donation to express its appreciation for the UNC Bears’ selflessness and service to the organization. Justin Reid (#16), team captain, accepted the check on behalf of the UNC Bears on Saturday, February 20, 2010, before the team’s 3-2 victory over the No. 1- ranked CU Buffaloes. As a club team, UNC Ice Hockey receives partial funding from student fees; however, to meet all of its financial obligations, the team must rely on member dues, fundraising opportunities, and donations such as this one from GYHA.
